Safe Place started in 2008 and is a organization creating international contemporary art exhibitions events, collaboration projects and art festivals. Artist, designer, performers, film makers, writers and musicians from all over the world create a multi-medial and disciplinary fusion, interacting with the public and celebrate the individual responses to the theme and the results of numerous potential interactions and dialogues between collaborators and fusions.

collaborator Carolina Olaya Manzanera
Carolina Olaya Manzanera was born in Bogota, Colombia. She studied Journalism and Audiovisual Communication in Madrid. She currently studies Fine Art at UCA Canterbury, with emphasis in Painting. A concern for home, national and international catastrophe has led her to an exploration of images of drama and survival through the banal gesture of painting. Her work reflects a manifestation of the insignificance and impotence of a man-made world, when it finds itself confronted by Nature’s impetus. A photograph taken after the 2011 Japan Earthquake inspired this piece.
